Since Kirsten was a student at Anderson C.V.I here in Whitby, she knew she wanted to be a chiropractor. With that goal in mind, she graduated Dean's Honours List with her Honours B.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. From there, she was accepted into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where she graduated in 2001. During her internship she was awarded a 6 month position at St. John's Rehab Hospital in Toronto, which allowed her opportunities to work with various health practitioners as well as complex patient presentations such as burn victims and amputees. After a short associateship, Kirsten and her brother opened up Stevens Chiropractic and Massage Therapy in 2003. Kirsten likes to approach each patient as a unique individual, and takes her time to address their whole presentation, so that care and treatment is approached as a doctor-patient team. She is passionate about making people feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit, while keeping an open and casual demeanor.
As a young child and teenager growing up in Whitby, Jared was always involved in athletics. Jared represented his elementary and high schools in various sports such as cross country, track and field, volleyball, basketball, and soccer. He played high level rep hockey and baseball for Whitby, and still uses his hockey and soccer knowledge today, but in a coaching capacity. Jared continues to stay active as an adult, regularly competing in triathalons of varying distances-including an IronMan! Having such an appreciation for the human body in sport, and learning best fit activities to improve the body's performance, it was a natural progression to bring this passion into a career - massage therapy was the perfect fit. Graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hyrdotherapy in 2002, Jared has built a diverse practice from the elderly and individuals with mobility impairments, to weekend warriors and athletes representing Canada in their individual sports. He has a very easy going attitude with an approach to patient care that helps people to feel better, so they can get moving and improve on their own body's performance!
